I was born in 1962 in Bad Ems, a small spa-town close to the river Rhein. I studied physics at the University in Göttingen (Niedersachsen) in Germany and got my diploma degree in 1989. Later I finished my academic career with an phd in physics and computer science. I worked at DLR fulltime
from March 1989 at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics.
In April 1999 I joined Sun Microsystems as a "Technology Consultant" in Hamburg. Late 2001 (December) the new challenge of leading the operational & technical affairs as CTO for energis-ision has started. The company was merged with another ISP (easynet) in June 2002.
During 2004 I worked as CTO at AOL Germany in Hamburg. Early 2005 I decided to focus again more on cutting edge technology and I moved to ORGA Kartensysteme as CTO & VP Intl. Research and Development. After a very successfull year the privately owned company was acquired by a french giant holding (Safran/Sagem) who decided to discontinue with the former management.
In the meantime I worked as a freelancer on various technology and management topics for mgm. This in an interesting technology consulting company which is based in Munic and Hamburg (mgm tech. in Munich, or mgm in Hamburg).
From April 2008 to May 2010 I took over the responsibility as "VP Technology" at Autoscout24 GmbH in Munich. This includes business development, product management and the IT organization. Autoscout24 is the leading marketplace for used and new cars and in europe.
In the meantime I went back to mgm technology partners to work on various projects focused on cutting edge IT-architecures.
From early 2011 I took another chance to dive into the difficult waters of social networking in the internet. I worked for wer-kennt-wen.de until Feb. 2013 as their new CTO. It was fun to develop this young, talented and highly motivated team to the next stage here in Cologne.
